Activities at work
At work, many of us spend all day sitting down. Why not find a way to integrate physical activity into your work? Diabetes can affect all of us, our families, and our friends. Today, it affects more than 200 million people around the world. People in developing countries face the biggest problem due to lack of awareness, training and resources often resulting in severe complications, suffering and ultimately death. You can do something about this:
- Find out about diabetes and how to minimise the risk.
- Organise or take part in a Global Diabetes Walk and raise awareness around the world.
- Walk the talk: Why not hold a meeting on the move? Walk around the office, up the street or in the park.
- Lunchtime stroll: Do it alone; together with some friends or even with the whole office. Fresh air is good for you even if it is raining.
- Window shopping: If you think walking is boring, why not walk around your favourite shops while always remembering to keep moving.
- Promote a healthy lifestyle within your office or in a local school – or suggest some new sports equipment.
